The sequel to the award-winning picture book How to Pee Your Pants: the Right Way (Macmillan) is coming soon to a bookstore near you. If you’ve ever been set up on a blind playdate, this one is for you. To celebrate HOW TO ESCAPE A PLAYDATE, I’m partnering with Macmillan and Brick and Mortar Booksto offer author visits to readers across the United States.
What is your author program?
My new program is called Escape the Playdate: A Choose Your Own Story Adventure. It works well for K-5, and it includes a read aloud, an interactive “escape the playdate” writing and drawing activity, and a Q&A. Students will leave knowing how to generate ideas and craft their own stories on the page. And all they’ll need is a paper and pencil.
How can schools participate?
Brick and Mortar Books is offering 20% off orders of 25+ copies of How to Escape a Playdate (use code PLAYDATE20). Those who purchase before October 1st will get free access to a special nation-wide VIRTUAL author visit on Thursday, October 15th at 10:00AM PST.
For schools whose schedule doesn’t work with that date and time, I have a few spots available for personal virtual visits during October that can be scheduled with me.
For schools within two hours of Kitsap County, Washington who book me for my IN PERSON honorarium, I’m donating it all to purchase books for the kids to bring with me to my visit which includes two presentations (K-2 and 3-5).
